Lokma is made by Starbuilt. This page explains what happens to your information when you use the app. The short version: your meals, photos and weights stay on your phone, and we don’t know who you are.

What stays on your phone

Your profile (body details, goal, daily targets), every meal you log, meal photos and weight entries are stored only on your device. We have no copy. Deleting the app or using “Delete all my data” removes them.

What is sent when you scan a meal

When you ask Lokma to estimate a meal, the app sends a smaller copy of the photo, or the words you typed, to our server at api.starbuilt.net. Our server passes it to OpenAI, our AI provider, and returns the estimate. We don’t keep the photo or the text after the answer is sent. OpenAI processes it under its API terms: it is not used to train their models and may be kept for up to 30 days to detect abuse.

Barcodes

When you scan a barcode, the number is sent to Open Food Facts, an open food database, to look up the product.

The random app ID

To count the free scans you have left each day, the app creates a random ID when it is first opened. Our server stores that ID with the number of scans per day. It is not linked to your name, e-mail, Apple ID or advertising ID.

What we don’t do

• No accounts, no sign-up.
• No advertising, no tracking across apps or websites, no analytics tools.
• We never sell or share your information.

Children

Lokma is not meant for children under 13.
